Thank you so much for your kind words Matt.  And yes, the headliner was also replaced – in a light grey as well.

 

The interior work truly transformed the car.

 

We had a gasoline Smart car for 7 years, decided to go for an electric one – unlike the gas-powered, the EV’s have decent acceleration.  And, for  our trips down into Portland, there is nothing as easy to park as a Smart car.   I even enjoy driving it, but my wife thinks I like driving anything I can get my hands on.  Go figure.

 

The latest car does threaten the Smart car for pure small fun.  https://www.snclocks.com/TheRestofourWorld/Autos/1992-Autozam-Mazda-AZ-1/i-HSW9V9c  I had the same shop redo the seats in our AZ-1.   They really came out well.

Very classy! Really brightens up the interior. Not the same old black. I like that you resisted doing the dash.

Didn't see any shots of the headliner. Did it get special treatment too?

And is that an electric car in your fine posse of rides?

   Finally got some pictures of the finished interior - new leather,
   carpet and headliner.  Recaros came with the car, but had them
   modified, cut down the cushion bolsters and had the passenger seat
   modified to fit up to the bulkhead hump.  I am very pleased - even
   though it is amazing how many bone-headed things an upholstery shop can
   do - thank god I did not let them remove or reinstall the things they
   covered with leather.
   We are very happy with the results!
   And, sorry not to post photos with this e-mail - just a pain to get
   them small enough to meet the size requirements.
