[DeTomaso] Misc questions

The switch is triggered by a cam in the plastic gear, it's probably worth stripping the motor and checking the whole assembly and verifying it is the switch, sometimes they just need a good clean.

https://www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/wiper-park-switch-14w/ or Moss Motors in the US, it's a Lucas 14W wiper motor.

If like most Pantera wiper motors it has been subject to road grime for 40 years you are probably just as well ordering a complete new unit, they are less than $100. Variants at Moss Motors are usually different sweeps, I believe the Pantera is 95 degree, but it's also pretty easy to reuse the old drive and swap the plastic gear.

I have a bunch of plastic gears if you find you need the gear with cam.

The transaxle as installed in the Pantera has the ID / ratio plate in the correct orientation to read.

Subject: [DeTomaso] Misc questions

1.) The switch in the motor that stops the windshield wipers in the parked
position is not working in my car. Is it worth trying to correct it?

If not, any suggestions on where to source a new one. IIRC, some of the
British car sites have them.

2.) There is a data plate on the transaxle. Since the trans is installed
upside down, do I reattach the data plate upside down too? And I'm not
really sure to reattach it; any suggestions for that?

Thanks,

Jeff
