Chris,
Say it isn't so!? Why not just finish it?!? I hope there is no terrible
change to your life causing you to have to part with the car, but just
restoration fatigue.
Anyway, how about some pics, or a link to an online album somewhere so we
can get a better idea of the current state of affairs before throwing out
random numbers.
Basically though, a complete and assembled car is always worth more than a
car in boxes, regardless of whether the restoration is complete or not.? My
opinion is that you'll "take it in the shorts" if you sell your car
disassembled.? All the risk is on the buyer as to whether the engine rebuild
was done right and with quality parts, whether all the parts are there or
not, whether anything else needs repair/replacement, etc.
Anyway, I hope of the best for you!
Cheers!Garth#4033

contemplating.

   restoration fatigue.
Anyway, how about some pics, or a link to an online album somewhere so
we can get a better idea of the current state of affairs before
   throwing out random numbers.
Basically though, a complete and assembled car is always worth more
than a car in boxes, regardless of whether the restoration is complete
or not.? My opinion is that you'll "take it in the shorts" if you sell
your car disassembled.? All the risk is on the buyer as to whether the
engine rebuild was done right and with quality parts, whether all the
parts are there or not, whether anything else needs repair/replacement,
   etc.
Anyway, I hope of the best for you!
   Cheers!Garth#4033

As others have eluded to I think you should dispel these mid restoration
blues thoughts from your head and finish Pandora!

The collector car market has and is still softening, which brings complete
finished cars into greater affordability. That said there always seems to be
a group of buyers that can?t quite get into a finished car and they compete
over the project cars. We have seen many times where a project fetches a
disproportionate price compared to the work required to finish it. With all
the hard work for your car done it is a blank canvas for someone to get what
they want at a reduced price. If you have to pay someone to finish the car I
suspect you may not be out of pocket selling as is.

Of course the right thing to do would be get paint on it and then enlist
fellow Pantera owners (beer and pizza is a great incentive) over a few
weekends to help put it back together.

All,

Two-headlight Mangustas will always lag behind their purer four-headlight
forebears. This seemed to be a particularly nice example, and probably would
have netted $25-30k more had it been sold one year ago.

Yet another indication of the overall softening of the collector car
market...but a strong result under the current circumstances.
