The amount of oil it appeared to burning I'd say it needed a rebuild too! Either that or it has one of those stroker motors with the oil rings intersecting the wrist pins and that is normal, either way not sure it would be too healthy following it closely, even in a Renault!

You goofballs.

You manage to overlook the fact that the entire chase sequence was scripted for comedic effect, and believe that the Pantera actually overheated and broke down???

They used a smoke bomb!

The car ran like a top and put up with unbelievable amounts of abuse. Only a fraction of the footage shot was actually used. The number of sidestep burnouts, powerslides etc they did beggars belief, and the car took it all like a champ.

When it got home it needed new rear tires, flywheel and clutch. Those were totally (and deliberately) wrecked.
