[DeTomaso] Euro GTS production numbers

All Euro cars had the smaller bumpers, the large impact bumpers are purely a US mandated initiative, nobody in their right mind would put those on unless forced to! There was no VIN identifier for Euro GTS, unlike the US cars that had 'GT' in the VIN. I suggest to use the various sources of information like Chuck Melton's registry, (which has a Euro GTS section) along with due diligence. Philippe OIczyk has factory records you can purchase for an ungodly sum of money, so that would be an expensive means to verification prior to purchase.

First and foremost find a car that appeals to you, but if you shoot for a Pushbutton or a late model 9000 series narrow body Pantera you are more likely purchasing a model that potentially has more upside.

Bill, good point -- I know a lot of owners made their cars look like euro
GTS. But, yes - -real ones. It is a not unlike my Pantera (SN5533) -- I
know there were less than 20 "real" factory FIA GR3 racers, but quite a few
customers turned their "regular" Pantera's (ie, SN5533) into GR3 racers.
I am trying to get a handle on "real" Euro GTS (with the smaller bumpers
etc), as I am considering picking up another Pantera for the street and
thinking of going that way.
