When you look at these nipples dont that tell it wil be R-12 ? R 134 have snap on quiqconnection?

  In all honesty I think you'd do better taking it to a local AC shop to
  have it properly evacuated, tested and refilled, it's not as simple as
  just plugging a can of Freon on the suction port.

  Your R-12 gauges should read:

  High pressure 200 @ idle to 225 @ 3000 Rpm

  Low Pressure about 30 psi

  The York Compressor has 1/4 inch square shut off valves, they should be
  in the open posistion

  The System will take up to 4 pounds of Freon

  like spotting a Red Tailed Hawk, that thinks its hiding,

  The exact location depends on a number of factors, but normally it is
  accessed from under the Pantera or thru the Right Rear wheel well by
  removing the splash shield, to the front right of the engine to the
  rear of the firewall. Do you still have the R-12 reciprocal black YORK
  Compressor, or has it been changed to a newer Silver Rotary type
  compressor? Then we need to examine the rotary conversion for labels
  and /or available ports for identification. If you get this far call me

          Did you confirm if it is the original York piston compressor or
  a
          modern rotary one? Ports are normally on the rear of the
  compressor,
          but if your system has been modernized or retrofitted they could
  have
          been relocated albeit uncommon to do so.
