[DeTomaso] seat mechanism question-Help!

Folks,If I position seat  rail with sliding mechanism on the inside next to center console, and locking mechanism knob in toward the seat, the locking slots  and spring loaded mechanism is toward inside of seat and hits the seat frame underneath the seat.  I assume the handle rail should be next to center console BUT handle knob OUTWARD toward center console.  Correct?

  Folks,
Finally got seats back from upholsterer.  Really stupid question as I'm
not sure if he put rails on bottom of seat correctly.  The adjustment
handles.  What side of seat if sitting in it  seat {right or left)?
I never adjusted them and I bought new wheels from Larry Scott
  (Awesome!)
  Thanks
