YES!!!  That's the answer!  The original raised bar provided support to the trunk tub so it didn't flex/sag down onto the transaxle when loaded.  Long ago I added 2 blocks to the support lip on the front underside of my trunk tub which rest atop my Hall Pantera straight camber bar.
