Peter Brock writes that upon the partnership with De Tomaso and Shelby forming he pulled out his original design for the McDonald Lang Cooper and refined the lines for what would become the Shelby - De Toamso P70 "Prototipo 7 liter"

I think Jack alluded to it but didn't call it out specifically being a reference to the 7.0 liter engine, that it ultimately didn't have. Remember the original concept was for a CanAm car.

Good stuff Jack. Thank you for a great story except I don't see any
connection between the story and why they call it the P72.
Am I missing something?
