Dear Jerry, Julian, Jack and Thomas,
Thank you very much for the information! It will be a great
help to the Pantera Research Institute. One of our project directors needed
that information. The research can proceed. You are extremely helpful.
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles

I just replaced mine on 2 car decks without wings and I used 80 pounders.
Found the numbers in some old posts. The ones I used were from McMaster
Carr.

The eyelet ends are thicker than stock so I had to make a trip for hardware
for the eyelet end cross mounts. Each shock got 2, 3/4 long x 1/4 inch
steel bushings and each bushing got 2 nylon 3/4 x .345 x 13/64 nylon spacers
(Hillman number 880446). The old shock bushings can be used but the eyelet
washers must be drilled slightly for the bushing to be inserted.

Dear Forum,
Given all the activity from the great minds posting
tonight, I have an esoteric trivial question about the stock rear deck
struts or their modern replacements:
Does anyone have the specs for the proper
force in Newtons (or any other unit) for deck struts on a stock deck
and/or a deck with a spoiler?
Curious, Chuck Engles
