The 3rd (of 3) armored Deauvilles produced has surfaced, and is for sale.
Details are being added to the registry now. THANKS to Jochen!
Here is a clip from the description:
Unique "Armored Edition" copy, rare De Tomaso Deauville second series with 89,000 km. Fully armored by De Tomaso for Mr. Keller,
owner of the Keller company that supplied trains for the Italian State Railways. This special car was ordered by the owner after he
unmasked a magistrate who took bribes to protect wealthy entrepreneurs in Sardinia from kidnappers. The magistrate committed
suicide by killing himself during the trial.
For fear of repercussions, Mr. Keller ordered this fully armored model with CB radio and fire extinguishing system. Fully armored
with top quality Kevlar fibers.
Only 3 of its kind (there is only another one, but the first series, which is exhibited in the Italian Police Museum). Only 89,000
km with original mechanical parts. The car has been standing inside for more than 20 years, so it needs a service to bring it back
into working order.
"Preserved" car with first paint, healthy and rust-free, with signs of aging and non-use. The interior is in a good condition given
the age.
All historical documents of the car have been attested by the Italian police and the Guardia di Finanza. However, the car has no
documents and is only sold with a purchase contract, sales invoice and ACI chronological report. It is possible to register the
vehicle in Italy via ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano).
Please check if the vehicle can be registered in your country.
This represents a very rare opportunity to obtain an armored car, and a DeTomaso at that !
Bidding is currently around 38000.
Simon or Fred are you interested ?
