[DeTomaso] Advantages of CV Half Shafts?

I installed SACC kit last summer; if bought un-assembled it costs much less than previously mentioned 2-3K.
They replaced Spice shafts that were on the car.

With Spice shafts I always had some vibrations when accelerating hard out of the corners.
With CV shafts all is super smooth, no more vibrations.

Kit came with the aero boots, I installed them as per instructions with boot edge sticking out about 1/2 inch out from the metal sleeve.
After the first longer trip both outer boots ware torn; after examination it was obvious that they were actually cut by the edge of the metal sleeve; there were even small scratch marks from sleeve contacting the shafts!

I replaced the Chinese made speed-boots with genuine GNK "accordion style" boots and all was fine since.
Those accordion boots offer much larger articulation angles compared to speed boot style.

Aero style boots area must in my opinion (Scott's kits come with them), when I first got my Ultima it had the concertina style boots and they were failing regularly, after switching to the aero boots I never had anther failure despite some hard track driving.

I’m using the Aero style boots

I have pushed the rubber end into the metal sleeve as far as I could and still have the clamp on the outside. This makes it very compact and I imagine it will be better protected from heat from the exhaust.

I’ve been running this setup for many years now, including at least 4 or 5 trips to the continent.
