[DeTomaso] Corvette C8, yay or nay?

The 2020 C-8 mid engined 'Vette seems like a bargain at $59,999, excluding the expected unauthorized dealer markup of $25,000-$50,000 or so for those who simply must have the latest of everything. The $9995 1971 Pantera would cost $57,550 in 2019 dollars so the guessed at price is in-line. $60k is even more of a bargain compared to the 2020 Ferrari-engined DeTomaso at $830,000, or the price of TWO competition-proven 2020 Ford GTs. Or one Ford GT plus a full time security guard with a combat trained war dog both living in my locked garage.

I have never been interested in Corvettes, but the the C8 looks very Pantera to me :)

A modern, almost 200 mph car for 60k? I could put some De Tomaso stickers over the Corvette badges and be pretty happy, I think 😁
