[DeTomaso] NPC US customs tariff rate

Patrick,

I don't know that anything has changed, it is still relatively easy to import a vehicle under the +25 year old rule. I would suggest if your friend is not familiar with the process he uses one of the numerous shipper/brokers to do all the paperwork for him. There are also online calculators for duties and fees e.g. if he paid $50,000 for the Mondial the import duties + fees would be $2500, plus his shipping cost, which being Netherlands to Florida should be one of the more direct routes.

He could wait until after 2020, but I suspect nothing much will change, maybe Brexit will have happened, but that has nothing to do with it other than some Germans will be even more pissed at the US and UK!

Best regards,
Julian

A Belgian friend of mine living in Fort Lauderdale just bought a
Ferrari Mondial cabrio in concours condition in an auction in Belgium
for a very good price. The car is a 1971 and has spent her entire life
in the Netherlands and was always maintained by Ferrari in the
   Netherlands
He is considering importing the car in Florida for his family and kids
to enjoy, but does not know anything about customs duties . He is
afraid the new customs regulations could kill his hopes ! He doersn't
think the car should be modified for road use, as the car is from 1971.
I told him he should have thought of this before purchase, and tried to
convince him to buy a Pantera in Florida or elsewhere , but sadly, he
has been intoxicated with this strange "Cavallino Rampante" virus.A
   Can anyone help ?A
   Thank youA
