[DeTomaso] sniper EFI

I am installing a Sniper EFI with Holley compatible efi distributor.
I asked Holley if I still need to use the tach adapter.
They said they use a square wave on their output signal.

Does anyone know if I will need to use the tach adapter with my msd 6al box.
