I have been running the sumitomo's HTR Z in both 17 and 18 rim diameters on my every day cars ( porsche boxsters and 911's) for about 5 years . They have been pretty fantastic for the price performance , Much better than the older yoko's or the Kumho's for the price , Tire rack stocks these at more than one ware house , it has never taken more than 2 days to get fresh sumitomo's . decent on wet as well as dry .
for what it is worth , jg

Consider stepping up to a 245/40-17 in front and you can have the
Michelin's front and rear?

I have 335/35-17's on the rear and 235/40-17's on the front. Sadly,
they are Michelin Pilot Sports which are not available. I will look to
change them this year. Is Nito the way to go?

All,
FWIW don't forget that foreign markets can fill gaps as well. I needed
speed rated 225/60-15 tires for my GT350 and they are impossible to
find here. I found something like 16 different options in Holland. I
bought a set of five W-rated Kumhos for about 80 Euros apiece.
