[DeTomaso] Quiet(er) mufflers?

I think the drown comes mainly from the headers, whose fundamental frequency of vibration triggers a secondary drone in the interior. Might be why the factory used those short 4 into 1 exhaust manifolds.
The loudness of the system is then determined by the Muffler’s or lack thereof.

restrict power as much as stock Ansas. But only a dyno-comparo will
positively answer this part. The resonance is caused by the WHOLE
exhaust system so changing only one piece may not fix this.

All,
Is there a muffler out there that is quieter than the usual aftermarket
stuff and doesnat have a drone (resonance) at some engine RPM? I say
quieter since I realize Pantera mufflers are too short to be very
quiet. Iam asking on behalf of a local owner who said he doesnat mind
losing some power but is annoyed by noise level and drone from his
current setup. I admit I donat know what his current setup is and will
ask.
