I agree with Garth with his recommendation for the Tefba filter instead of the Gano version.

You should order the 1 1/2 inch sized version. If you soften the stock 1 3/8 inch hoses in hot water, or perhaps with a heat gun, they should become pliable enough to install on the filter.

Or you could do as I did and use silicone hose “reducers” that are readily available in the needed sizes - but in mm. 
 
UK eBay generally excels in stocking the different sized reducers far better than USA sellers.
