If you’ve cut the openings, no big deal. I’m not a big fan of cutting a currently stock hood for these, but I say that while I cut my own firewall and probably should keep my mouth shut. If you get a fiberglass hood, cut away! I don’t mind the look either with or without but the stock look is classic. 

I thought someone tested the functionality of the openings with yarn and different speeds.
