[DeTomaso] BaT 1972 Pantera - Damaged during test drive

The World has changed of late and there are way too many scammers who have gotten quite good at what they do in some cases, so I would conduct a lot more due diligence than in the past. But I have purchased numerous cars including a Pantera, Ultima two GT40's and most of the race cars I've owned sight unseen, let alone driven them!

Say I'm crazy, but only one of those purchases was less than stellar and that was one of the big rig car haulers.

I agree that it seems like it would be dumb to buy a car without driving it, but on reflection, I have bought three collector cars without driving them (each for different reasons) before purchasing them. That includes two Panteras and a Longchamp. I definitely would never let someone I do not know or trust drive one of my cars until the deal is done (or at least a large deposit is in-hand).

They will know and feel if the engine is operating properly, if the secondaries for example are working or not. This what you discover by properly vetting the buyer.
