Well thank you Bill!
I'll leave it alone for now and see if it bugs me that much.
I just relate any red light on the dash as meaning something is not right!
Appreciate your help,
Matt

BTW, can these things be repaired? I could not see how to access the little
tabs someone said to bend in for a fix.

   Matt,
The Pantera used three different versions of the flasher/hazard warning
switch. The electrical diagram of each version is attached. The late
version of the flasher/hazard warning switch has a 120 ohm resistor
mounted to the back of the switch. This resistor provides a dim light
in the hazard warning switch when the switch is in the OFF. The dim
light is provided so the switch may be located in the dark.
If you do not want the dim light feature, remove the Yellow/Black wire
from pin 59d of the hazard warning switch, cap the wire and tie it back
   in the wiring harness

The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.
Do the best you can with what you have where you are.

I also replaced the flasher as it was non functional as well.
Everything works as expected except that now with the car running
     the
hazard switch displays a dimmish light all the time.
I don't recall it doing this with the old switch.
I double checked to make sure the leads were hooked up as before.
I can only surmise it has something to do with the additional diode.
     Maybe a "safety" feature?
I don't really like the idea of a red light on all the time on the
     dash.
Anybody have any ideas why this switch would be lit up and how to
     fix
     it?
     Thanks,
     Matt
