[DeTomaso] "proper" radiator fan sensor location??

All,

I’ve run this through the DeTomaso forums and received varying replies.

So, let’s see what the email list has to say.

The Ron Davis double pass sold by Quella has two sensor bungs located in the INLET tank.

The Fluidyne double pass has a sensor bung located in both the INLET and OUTLET tanks.

eBay offered double pass radiator, by Superior radiator, has one sensor bung located in OUTLET tank.

Wizard radiator double pass has one bung in the OUTLET tank

Stock Pantera double pass has inlet tank on the bottom, outlet tank on the top of radiator. Assuming horizontal baffle in tank.

I don’t believe the radiator cares, for cooling purposes, whether inlet is bottom or top. But due to the undercar pipe locations and the limited space,
it doesn’t seem too easy to re-plumb the Pantera inlet to the top tank. So Pantera inlet will generally be the bottom tank.

So, where is the proper location for a single temp sensor to control two sucker fans?

INLET or OUTLET?

Thanks,

Larry
