[DeTomaso] Molded heater hose ID

Mike,

I have no idea what you are doing that requires that length of hose? I assumed (obviously wrongly) you needed a 90 degree that comes off the heater tubes at the firewall to your shut off valves, that are then easily accessible under the car at the chassis rails where they triangulate.

Julian,

Both those hoses are far too short. The original reference was for a 80417 which is 60 inches long, 3/4 inch diameter. After researching the Dayco site I found what we really need is the 80407 which is 60 inches long, 5/8 inch diameter. The 406, 405, 404 etc are progressively shorter.

Thanks!

Forest, I just saw your 80406 suggestion which might also work but it’s 48 inches long. I figure at under $10 each for the 60-inch version, why not get perhaps more than I need rather than perhaps not enough....

Mike,

Why mess around trying to find a Dayco hose when you can just buy the correct Continental part #63812 for cheaper than you paid for the wrong Dayco part.... but if you must have the Dayco it looks to be part #80402 😉

Available from your official Amazon Pantera parts vendor.

All,

I just opened my box of these Dayco 80417 hoses. They are 3/4 inch diameter. The Pantera uses 5/8 inch hoses.

Doh.

Just out of curiosity I tried them out, and they are a rattling loose fit. As wrong as can be.

Fortunately Amazon has a great return policy.

It would be interesting to know if Dayco sells the same hose in the proper size?
