[DeTomaso] What do you call them?

Yup. The early pieces have a lip at the front that engages a groove in the back of the firewall, and they are retained by sheet metal screws at the rear. The later pieces have no lip, and are retained by Dzus fasteners. The profile may also be different, but I can’t say that with certainty. 

If you look in the De Tomaso parts book a drawing spells it out somewhat....
