[DeTomaso] FW: Pantera Question for you guys. - timing marks

My car #7260, is a very late 1974. I've hooked up the timing light and pointed it at the flywheel through the bell housing access hole hoping to see some marks and did not see any.  Based on this, I don't think they came with marks on the flywheel.  For those that have them, they were probably added. You can just mill them on a rotary table.  Much easier access for quick
timing checks, and they won't slip.

Checking and changing the belts is more often than setting the timing.

Not to mention avoiding the need to pull the seat, firewall cover and access
cover to set the timing . . .
Thanks Thomas

Late cars have timing marks on the flywheel. Not sure if that can be added
to early cars, but that is much safer than the damper.
