Mike,

That is my understanding, but I'm trying to obtain some further
clarification as it would appear Reno Tahoe Pantera's is taking on some not
insignificant financial risks as a small chapter and especially as we will
be in direct competition for attendees with the Forza event. I'm also trying
to clarify the Fun Rally raffle situation as I assume the Chapter would run
and benefit from that wholly in an effort to break even.

The bigger question is if POCA is not sponsoring events, what is the amassed
$125K of central funds going to do? I would forward a motion that if POCA is
decentralizing to the Chapters then the bulk of the membership funds should
be redistributed to the those Chapters and future membership renewals
likewise, with only a token to cover publications going to POCA central.

Funny how this is all now happening after a fairly disastrous Vegas Rally,
not supported by any Chapter! Personally I think if all this is true then
POCA just cut it's own throat, quite sad.

Julian

Jack,

All the events you mention were/are great, but they are deliberately smaller
regional events, unlike the POCA Fun Rally which is supposed to be THE
national event.

Are you saying the board has decided to abdicate that responsibility and
there will only be regional events from now on, staged by the chapters?

That would be a very sad state of affairs if it was true. I'm hoping I
misunderstood you?

Mike

There are probably enough Panteras in FL and the southeast U.S. to make it
financially feasible. The 2019 Reno Event will be of the same type held in
the West, also run entirely by a POCA Chapter who will reap any rewards for
this sort of event. In previous years, such events were sponsored by Great
Lakes Panteras Chapter in the mId-West and even earlier on the East Coast by
the PONE Chapter and the Jersey Panteras Chapter.

these sorts of events, when they know their local conditions better than the
Board, so we support the Chapter efforts. Hope to see you at one or more- J
