[DeTomaso] 2019 POCA FUN RALLY DATES

It is indeed unfortunate, I had cautioned the people our end that Ed held his event the Memorial Day holiday weekend and that might be the case for 2019. I have to think there is a bit of resentment and stubbornness perhaps on both sides, which again is unfortunate as I think there is space for all to exist and thrive with a little collaboration.

On the hotel related note we have options and I would be interested in hearing opinions to convey to others in the Chapter on holding the event in South Lake Tahoe with some travel down to Reno for events e.g. National Automobile Museum etc. or vice versa with hotel in Reno and travel to the Lake for day trip(s). The So. Lake Tahoe option would probably result in a higher room rate, but we need to scope it out if there's sufficient interest.

I will also be working with the local SCCA Region (as I'm Chief of Tech) to see if we can put on or engage with an autocross event. This would be a cones style course that presents a lot of fun without the hard track day wear and tear. It is somewhat difficult to plan a season ahead as if the fire season is bad the fire bombers are stationed at Stead Airport and we lose access to the best venue.

Ed,

You announced your 2019 event on your website? Do you expect potential attendees to check your website each week to see if you have announced something?

Why not also an announcement to this email list (or did I miss that), which you did multiple times for your inaugural event?

Or much more logically, why haven’t I received an email directly from you, especially strange since I was a participant in this year‘s event.

As I mentioned to you in Monterey, Ed, don’t you think it is time for you to start sending out direct email blasts to the people that have already joined Forza or participated in your inaugural event?

May I also humbly suggest that your event registration form does not again appear to be a complete copy of previously used POCA registration forms? Which likely lead some attendees to think it was an actual POCA event? Or was that precisely your intent?

POCA has now informed its members of the date and location of their 2019 event.

Forza DeTomaso has not.

Larry
