[DeTomaso] Clutch master help please

Sometimes the clutch master is thoroughly stuck in the pedal plate. This can be because long term leakage of brake/clutch fluid onto/into the protective rubber boot causes some of the rubber to dissolve, then act like glue between the master cylinder and the pedal plate. I've seen such that required using a big pry bar to remove the metal cylinder and a sanding drum & air-grinder to remove the boot remnants.

All the pivot surfaces in the clutch over-center mechanism are umlubricated mild steel running without bushings, so its not rare to find egg-shaped holes and worn pivot rods, too. Feel free to reproduce any worn rods that you find with hardened steel; old hollow pushrods are one source, and a small bench lathe can make custom bushings of any size & shape while giving you a project for winter non-driving season. Incidentally, Ford created that whole mechanism to allow "drivers" to hold the stock 11" clutch in at stoplights without leg discomfort. IMHO this is very bad driving practice as it wears the internals of both the clutch and  ZF, and can put you into the middle of an intersection in a heartbeat if the hydraulics suddenly fail. The continuing saga of the impossible to replace clutch master
cylinder.

The easy way to change the master was to use the old rod and washer in
the new cylinder.A But, the new cylinder is 1/100 of an inch smaller
than the old one.

We cannot drive the pin out of the triangular part of the effort
reduction kit to remove the old rod.A We have soaked it in penetrating
oil for a week.

We canat get the entire triangular piece out because you canat get to
the snap ring.

Arrrrggggggg. This is beyond my abilities.

What are the options now?

Can i slot the new washer to go over the old rod then snap ring it into
the new master?

I am not sure i hsve the ability to pull the entire brake box out.

Attatched th the picture of the new master and the washer i was
thinking of slotting.

Help me please!!!
