Dear Forum,

The story does not follow an orderly and methodical path
to the problem. None of the easy diagnostic maneuvers produced an answer.
Out of desperation, I installed a new headlight switch and the headlights
went down. I immediately pushed up and they came up. Then they would not
go down. Finally, with a faint clue, I wiggled the connections to the
rearward lower limit switch and voila! Problem finally found and fixed.
The headlights now work properly. The installation of the new LED
headlights was completed.

Last Saturday morning a pre-dawn mission launch of both
Panteras showed that from my perspective in the lead car, the LED headlights
behind me were blinding. From my brother's perspective in the Pantera, he
found the light output to be phenomenally better. He said the the light
reflected from the speed limit signs was almost blinding. We were both
impressed.

I was so impressed that I bought another pair LED headlights
for another old car in the fleet. The installation was less (surprise!)
problematic than the Pantera.

These bulbs were recommended to me by David Finley. The
company is Vintage Car LEDs. They are in Houston and are easy to deal with
and tried to help when I was fighting the Pantera gremlin. I recommend
them.
