[DeTomaso] BAT Pantera question

Matt,
The De Tomaso parts book doesn’t show them, but the Ford book shows them clearly. There were numerous gussets welded to the chassis to reinforce the A-arm and shock mounts, as well as strengtheners under the dash. These were only added to the US-spec early cars (1971 flat decklid) as part of the extensive recall campaign. Hundreds of cars were comprehensively dismantled (engine out, suspension removed, dashboard removed) and modified by Ford before they were released to the dealers for sale. There was some number of cars (less than a hundred I think) that had already been delivered to customers and had to be recalled. Some of those were fixed at the owner’s house by specialized mobile repair teams....

Sorry for all the questions but inquiring minds need to know! I'm just
trying to learn as much as I can.
You are all very kind to share your knowledge and it is appreciated.
Hope you're enjoying France Mike. My short stay there was an
enlightening experience that I will always cherish.
Aimer la vie!
Merci,
Matt

All,
This isn't from `someone'.
All US-spec 1971 Panteras have these. As part of Ford's recap
program, gussets were added and welded all over the place. There
