[DeTomaso] Pantera facts?

Interesting...I'd rather have a third vent than a dumb seat-belt light (which I disconnected anyway). How much of a job is it to add that middle vent?

Thanks,

Chris

Don't read too much into the kph speedo; I've sold a couple of them I accidentally came across to people who simply find them attractive. And ALL 2-pod-dash Panteras had three 'vents' in the dash. Most have a triangular upholstered bulge with a gauge light & the seatbelt warning light covering the unused center outlet, but that light-mount is only bolted on and can be easily removed so the vent hole underneath becomes functional. You're right- the car is not stock but is slightly customized inside & out: the hibachi-vents on the hood show that. And the Ferrari-copy 'boxer' spoiler on the deck isn't even painted- I suspect it's a recent addition. Attractive car nonetheless- J Deryke

Well even I know the "interior and body are - NOT - totally stock."

Somebody help me out here--this Pantera is advertised as "most likely"
having original paint, and is titled as a '71, but there are some things
that don't add up to me (maybe Mike can explain them).

It has kph speedo, it has three air vents in the middle of the dash which I
thought was found on later models, yet it's a two-pod which is found on
earlier models, I'm not sure what the "front fiberglass tray" is all about
(I think he means the rear tub), and I got a kick out of the description of
the "original radio" since I was under the impression none had radios from
the factory but were installed at the dealerships. The picture also looks
like the paint has pinstriping, but maybe it's just the way it looks in the
picture.

Could this be some European model with which I'm not familiar?

Thanks,

Chris
