Mike,

AS much as we all hate to hear it, perhaps it is nothing to do with the color, but a softening market for our cars?

By example the Embo bodied 9000 series '79 GTS that has been on eBay has had a maximum bid of $82K over a number of repeat listings. It's a collectible car with all the Euro traits and 10" wheels etc.

It's Scottsdale auction this coming  week, that may be an interesting watermark to see where prices really are;

Barrett-Jackson has five Pantera's on the docket;

VIN#4843 GT5 conversion; https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1973-DE-TOMASO-PANTERA-212512
VIN# 1632; https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1971-PANTERA-DE-TOMASO-COUPE-213735

VIN#7219, 74 GTS; https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1974-DE-TOMASO-PANTERA-GTS-212534

VIN#6711; https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1974-DE-TOMASO-PANTERA-L-211790

VIN#5885; https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1973-DE-TOMASO-PANTERA-GTS-212817

Then there is the GT5S #9547 at Gooding & Co., with an estimate of $300-400K

Russo & Steele has two;
https://russoandsteele.com/vehicle-details/?show_vehicle=170929&current_index=0&total_results=2&tsauction_id=197&=&caryear=0&caryearto=0&search_text=pantera&page=featured&showpage=1
https://russoandsteele.com/vehicle-details/?show_vehicle=169834&current_index=1&total_results=2&tsauction_id=197&=&caryear=0&caryearto=0&search_text=pantera&page=featured&showpage=1

Bonhams don't show any.

Julian

Subject: [DeTomaso] GTS sells at Mecum

Hi guys,

A sub-9k mile USA GTS sold today at Mecum for $105k, well under $125-150k estimate. Amazingly somebody made the decision to repaint it resale red which probably explains it. Had it been original color it probably would have been closer to $125k, and if it had been the original paint, in good shape, closer to $150k....

Lot S224....

Mike
