[DeTomaso] Need to borrow/rent a bearing extractor tool for the safety wiring

Konrad,

You don’t need to remove any bearings to remove the ring gear and differential? I haven’t done it in years but my recollection is that you just remove the cast iron side plates, withdraw the flanges (that the driveshafts bolt to) and then just lift the differential out?  Why would he horse around with the bearings?

I have even helped safety wire a ZF without even taking the differential out at all. Armed with the right tools, it’s possible to do it by just removing the bottom cover and doing it in place.  That was a fascinating exercise to watch and take part in.....
