All the side mounts got taken by guys updating the 71 Type 1 boxes to the
side mount versions with some frame mounting modifications. The
aftermarket mounts are designed to supplement the original single type 1
mount. The two per side sway bar studs that these mounts uses are only
coming off 8 mm studs and can¹t handle all the stress that you can put on
those transaxle mounts if you want to get down 400+ HP to the ground.
