Maybe some sandpaper to all your pulleys grooves and then belt dressing. I hope its not a bearing in the water pump!

The belt is only a couple years old. Maybe I have it too tight. I
need to clean up the water that slung up all over my headliner :-(
I will let everything dry out and try it again later and see if the
squeal noise is back.
I will spray some water on it again and confirm that I found the
issue. Fingers crossed!!

Stranger things...
Water pump
Alternator
A/C compressor
My first thought was that it sounded like a bearing, but not a rod
or
main or cam... like a ball bearing, like maybe the throwout bearing
in
the trans, or a pilot bearing/bushing. Then I thought about the list
above.
Then I thought Les might be onto it, but you said the baffles had
been
removed. Then I though maybe a vacuum leak at the carb or intake,
but
that would typically be rhythmic.
Be sure to let us know what you find.

I do like the baffle theory but I kind of expect it to be noisier.
The noise also sounds very familiar... like around old cars but
benign-ish. Honestly it seems weird to me that I don't know what it
is.

I have roller rockers and lifters. Is this the sound if one of them
is
bad?
