If you have a 27F it should fit... rotate ground clamp toward + post to make sure you don't have interference when hood is closed...

Bud #3400 ( Drive it like there is no tomorrow -- for there may not be ! )

Thanks for the replies - The 1" difference in height between the Group
27 (9" high) and Group 34 (7.9" high) should provide the clearance I
need...I am not sure though if the stock Pantera battery hold down,
which works perfectly for the 12.5" wide Group 27 battery, will work on
the Group 34's 10.3" length...(I can just take the top hold down piece
with me to the battery store)

I purchased an Exide group size 27 battery for my 72 Pantera - It fits
well in the battery location in the front trunk and works with the
stock hold down but seems too tall as when I close the hood, the hood
is raised in the area in front of the windshield on the passenger
side.A  The measurements of the battery I purchased are: Height: 9",
  Width: 12.5" and Depth 6.81"
What is the proper size battery for a Pantera? I'm looking for a
  standard battery, not Optima, etc.A
  Thank you
