Ok everyone, my bad. I have been reading and asking for help on this forum for about three years and my opinion of other owners deep care for their Panteras's is based on thatExperience.   Now I know about the quick fix, band aid down side.

I don't blame Dave for his comment. He might be one of the very few, that maintains there car right. In the last years we are getting more owners like him, unfortunately they are still a very few.
Dave, it don't take it personally, as i know DeTomasos better than the english language and i don't know what Bozo means. Sounded for me like a compliment.

Dave,

You should know who Roland is. He is Europe’s leading De Tomaso parts distributor and arguably has forgotten more about Panteras than you or I will ever know. Www.detomaso.de

And he is ABSOLUTELY right in what he says. These are valuable cars yet MANY people insist on cheapo band-aid repairs of fixing them properly. Eventually the cars get sold and the new owners spend years having to go back and re-fix things properly.

That was certainly true of the Pantera I bought. It was a nightmare of half-assed jury-rigged repairs to problems that could have been easily fixed properly had the previous owners just taken the time and effort and minimal additional expense to do so. Instead *I* got to do it....
