A few years ago, I wrote about adapting this pump (from another brand of engine) to the Cleveland. Quite expensive but shortens the engine ass'y by nearly 2". Ford also makes one for street rods that was for 351-Ws but can easily be adapted to the 351-C. I haven't tried my actual pump to see how it cools yet. You'll also need new crankshaft and pump pullies since Ford stopped offering that part of the assemblies. Good luck- J DeRyke

Subject: [DeTomaso] Short water pump

Just stumbled across this: http://www.snowwhiteltd.com/products.html

Apparently they have a kit that is 2" shorter than a standard water pump.

Anyone have any experience with this? 2" should allow for a flat, or
almost flat firewall.

/Thomas
