[DeTomaso] Jerry Brown wants to ban gasoline powered vehicles

I just have little confidence in software.  Unless some form of discipline has been developed to avoid unintended results, it requires a massive software validation effort to find all the bugs in autonomous system software.  One sign error, resolving angles between 0 and 360 versus -180 and +180, using a measurement taken before a maneuver to determine guidance after and maneuver, etc. can cause crazy results.
I saw all of this in a torpedo development program.  It could be really embarrassing in a test environment where one or two SSNs had to be available for exercises, but no one died.

(which only self-driving cars will solve).  I just got back from Canada where the people truly know how to drive and are considerate! It was fantastic!

And… that would leave more gas for us Pantera owners.  Every time I pass a Prius I wave and say “Thank You!”  More fuel for me.

Of course, by 2040, I’ll probably be dead, so…  WTFDIC ;-)
