Steve - I can't tell you where it goes, but I can tell you where it DOESN'T go. I remove my valve covers yearly to adjust valve lash (solid lifters) and I only have the oil dipstick support attached to the valve cover bolts

Subject: [DeTomaso] 1974 T-stat housing pipe- Anchor point???

All with late cars....a question!
On the pipe that heads from the block back to the pressure tank, there is what would appear to be a support bracket, about 5-6" long. It appears in the drawing in the parts book....and is listed as something that started in 74 according to the part number.
Where does this thing anchor to?
It appears like someone cut my bracket a bit shorter than it was originally.......like the last inch or so......
Is this supposed to go to a valve cover bolt or to a header bolt? If the latter, did they use a double sided stud as used in so many Ford exhaust manifolds over the years?
While the pipe is light, the bracket appears to be rather substantial, and I don't like the idea of this weight just hanging there acting like something that is going to bounce around & influence the molecules in the pipe section to part with each other......and let the fresh coolant out......

Thanks!!!
Steve
