Matt,

Thanks for the suggestion.

It looks like the restorer did put a safety wire in. Now I just need to figure out where it terminates.

That is an excellent idea though.

Jim whatever simple fix it turns out to be,make sure to also install a backup.

In case the main stock cable breaks you want to have a secondary cable.

Attach another suitable cable where the main cable is connected and run it through a hidden opening located on the drivers side corner just below the seal. It will go into the wheel well where you can pull it to open the hood, avoiding a potentially very bad situation.

Like Ken mentioned the last thing you want is the hood closed with no way to open it.

Cheap insurance and if it ever breaks, you'll be very glad you did!

Good luck,

Matt

   All,

The front hood latch is not latching.

Almost looks like the latching mechanism needs adjusting but I do not
   know how to adjust.

It appears the pin on the hood is actually catching the upper `tine' of
the front `fork' of the latch. Either that or the back `fork' is not
opening up enough to allow the pin to slip behind it. Any way that is
   my take.

I have attached a picture of the latch in the open position. It just
   does not seem right.

Was working fine last time I opened the front hood about a month ago.

Are there directions for adjusting this latching mechanism somewhere?

   Thanks,
