[DeTomaso] CD Players- What works in a Pantera?

I'm not getting any list e-mail, maybe one per day suddenly.
On topic, I hacked my '71 Dodge to fit a stereo, still regret that.  My truck dash thankfully has not been hacked but the area ahead of the doors was. My VW dash was hacked to fit a DIN radio, they took too much metal so the radio in there now is hanging on by its fingernails.  My Pantera still has a three hole opening but the knob holes have been joined to the square by a previous owner. Window mechanism used to hit the speakers, moving them about 1/4 - 1/2".
Maybe we could turn this into a worst stereo disaster stories thread.

It's weird, I haven't used a CD in a long time, but I've lost a couple
of 200GB SD cards recently.  Pandora and mp3s just sort of took over
for me and I'm not really clear when that happened.

You raise a really important point though, if you use CDs they are
moving parts and their position is very important.

My '78 BMW R100 has an 8 track player to Krako casset adapter to CD
player cable to my 2003 vintage MP3 player but I think I'll be
replacing the MP3 player with a bluetooth adapter.

I'm not ready to abandon old technology, I just don't really want to
use it properly :)
