Thanks Mike, very good point, have all the important stuff in a 'grab and go' bag, which from a not too distant conversation I recall Lori is well prepared with!

Julian,

Another important point: unless you have special riders on your policy, normally firearms and jewelry are specifically excluded from homeowners insurance coverage. That's one reason why when people evacuate, besides important documents and mementos, they normally take their guns and jewelry....

As most of my early career was international assignments we used to have a good inventory list of every item we owned having had to prepare such for customs/importation. It's been 12 years in one spot and I've collected a lot of 'stuff' it would now be almost impossible for me to remember what I had after the fact, should the worst happen.

Words of Wisdom everyone should heed! Thanks Scott.

Video is a great idea. I had mine inspected, certified and a written report done by qualified agent,
who was also a Pantera owner. But it is something you need to update as you add things (like we
all do) to your car. Going to do a video tonight.

(note to self. Call Haggerty. Update my “agreed-value”)

Thanks, Mike and all, for the updates on our affected Pantera brothers and sisters. My heart aches for Mike Russo - or anyone who loses their car due to a natural disaster.

Call it coincidence, but I called my insurance carrier (Grundy) to increase the agreed-upon value of the car and to change the garage address last week. Besides asking for updated photos of the car, the agent proffered some good advice: Take an extensive video of the Pantera on a smart phone, being sure to show all the upgrades and details you've done (including any invoices). Once you've documented the car, upload the file to a thumb drive and send it to a relative that does not live near you, or upload it to a "cloud" drive.

It may not give any of us any additional peace of mind (disasters strike at whim), but at least my insurance company knows exactly what I have, and I could replicate the car if need be (God forbid).
