[DeTomaso] NPC - Jerry Brown wants to ban gasoline powered vehicles by 2027

It seems a little incestuous when a state employee can buy politicians who determine their salary.
In general I can see a valid need for private sector unions because large companies have done a lot really bad things in the past (like in the asbestos mines).  With the global economy, American labor is competing with Chinese labor, and that doesn't work out well for the American.  It's like the good news is TVs are cheaper, the bad news is you just lost you job so you can't even buy the cheap TV.  And making it worse, the technology corporations have traded away to foreign governments to get into their markets, also has military applications.
It seems like a lot has gone wrong the past 50 years because we have all the great technology, but moms (or stay home dads) use to have at least the option of staying home to raise the kids, and to a great extent manage the family (which is in a lot of ways a business), or to work outside the home.  Now, in spite of all the technology that make us more productive, that option is largely gone.  Maybe we have just all gotten too much into big houses, fancy cars, and lots of toys.  I'm not sure all of that actually leads to a better life?

Yes.  CA, NY and IL have massively unfunded pension liabilities. They are looking at long term solutions,
Really long.  But politicians need to rein in the Unions, and change their retirement plans.
