Thank you for the clarification, Larry. I found a set via this list. Now I'll have a spare driver's side mirror if I (or anyone else) happens to need one later.

Thank you detomasolist.com :-)

Subject: [DeTomaso] 1979-'83 Dodge Colt or Plymouth Champ door mirror (passenger side)

Ed,

The Colt was an econobox small car. Not known for lots of add-on upgrades.

That said, the only original way to get a matching passenger-side was to order the dual mirror option, probably not something a lot of buyers added to an econobox.

AND, that option upgraded both mirrors to electric controls using two joysticks - one for each side. They were NOT cable operated.

There are later, similar Mopar mirrors that are sometimes seen on Panteras that are cable operated.

Those Colt mirror electric sets were sold by the 100’s ??? by Hall Pantera. Many of those were not wired for the included joysticks by the owners, but just glued to the vent window with no wiring.

Those Colts rarely are found anymore in wrecking yards, and even more rare to have the electric mirrors.

Sets appear now and then on eBay.

BTW - if the mirrors are electric, adjusting them will result in clicks from the gearing. Non-electric versions just freely swivel on a ball-and-socket mount.

Larry
