[DeTomaso] Kurt Busch Pantera

I watched the whole series of Panteras-at-Fast/Loud so far. Mostly to see if somehow among the soap-opera tone I could sift out a few tech facts. None yet except the transaxle (missed the name. Anyone catch it?) they selected needs a substantial frame notch to fit an inverted starter to a DeTomaso. Normally, that kind of starter uses a reduced OD flywheel and a dual disc clutch for lower engine placement. Might be interesting especially for Mangusta owners that are tired of bottoming on bumpy roads. I'm also hoping that what Bush said about wind tunnel testing has some video reality even though the silhouette will be more of a Gr-4 or -5 rather than a narrow body Pantera.

Thanks for the heads up Michael. Watched it last night. Can't believe
they paid $125,000 for the donor car. Oh well that's showbiz I guess,
gotta have some drama.
IMHO, the white Pantera that they installed the V6 in seemed to have
been purchased for less than what it should have sold for. Of course
they later found out that there was a lot more body work required on
that car than they expected. These reality TV shows always have to have
drama and ridiculously short build time frames. As stupid as this show
can be at times, what they are doing and saying about the Pantera can't
hurt the value of our cars.
