Subject: update on what I thought was failed ignition switch

I replaced my black terminal block ("black connector junction thing") with a "Replacement Up-grade Terminal Strip" available from Pantera Electronics.

http://www.pantera-electronics.com/isc.htm (see bottom of page).

The original terminal block has screws that grind directly into the wire strands, splaying and breaking them which causes increased resistance and heat, which subsequently melts things and creates a fire hazard - this happened to me on a drive and my cabin immediately filled with smoke and almost caused a fire.

The replacement terminal block has a clamping plate that the screws press against to clamp the wires in place without breaking their strands.

Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Cheers!
