I'd worry a little about wire cutting into some types of hose?

After some discussion round the shop: Both systems (gates and
clamptite) would require good access all the way around the hose.
Imagine trying to repair a leaking connector pipe on the road? IMO the
clamptite is sexier, while the gates is more resto-mod. The clamptite
seems like would be more prone to failure by the wire cutting the hose.
Conclusion? Stick with a good quality worm drive clamp. A couple in
the tool box should cover any on the road leak.
