[DeTomaso] Tire Size

Thanks for the additional list of tires. I will add them to the
spreadsheet.

A couple of questions and notes to keep in mind:

*Pirelli P7 *- they appear to have three tire sizes for 15" wheel, only one
of which will fit the 8" rim, and none of them are technically spec'd for a
7" rim. This looks like a great option if you are running 8" front and 10"
rear wheels. But, if you are running the "original" 7" front wheels, that
tire would appear not to be an option. See:

   -
      www.pirelli.com/mediaObject/pirellityre/ww/en/catalogue/motorsport/p7_corsa_classic/P7_Corsa_Classic/original/P7_Corsa_Classic.pdf

*Hoosier R7 *- they have four tires for a 15" wheel, and three of them fit
both 7" and 8" rims. Unfortunately, while they are DOT approved, they are
virtually a slick and would be dangerous on the street (IMHO). I selected
the R7's for my SCCA ITE class racing. Not the fastest tire, but at least
had I nice selection to try for "fitment" and "clearance" purposes.

*Hoosier R6 - *I don't think Hoosier is still making the R6 - it is not
shown as for sale on its website -- not sure if there are some left over as
old stock somewhere.

I can't find the *Michelin TBs* for sale - can someone help me find a link?

To AJ's point -- does anyone know of a set of high performance tires for a
15" wheel that can be driven on the road and track, and:

   1. will fit the original Pantera 7" front and 8" rear wheels
   2. have a front diameter of about 25"
   3. have a rear diameter of about 27"

I am still looking, and would appreciate the help.

-------------- next part --------------
Thanks for the additional list of tires.A I will add them to the
   spreadsheet.
A couple of questions and notes to keep in mind:

Pirelli P7 - they appear to have three tire sizes for 15" wheel, only
one of which will fit the 8" rim, and none of them are technically
spec'd for a 7" rim.A This looks like a great option if you are
running 8" front and 10" rear wheels.A But, if you are running the
"original" 7" front wheels, that tire would appear not to be an option.
   See:

     * [1]www.pirelli.com/mediaObject/pirellityre/ww/en/catalogue/motorspo
       rt/p7_corsa_classic/P7_Corsa_Classic/original/P7_Corsa_Classic.pdf

Hoosier R7 - they have four tires for a 15" wheel, and three of them
fit both 7" and 8" A rims.A Unfortunately, while they are DOT
approved, they are virtually a slick and would be dangerous on the
street (IMHO).A I selected the R7's for my SCCA ITE class racing.A
Not the fastest tire, but at least had I nice selection to try for
   "fitment" and "clearance" purposes.

Hoosier R6 - I don't think Hoosier is still making the R6 - it is not
shown as for sale on its website -- not sure if there are some left
   over as old stock somewhere.

I can't find the Michelin TBs for sale - can someone help me find a
   link?

To AJ's point -- does anyone know of a set of high performance tires
for a 15" wheel that can be driven on the road and track, and:

    1. will fit the original Pantera 7" front and 8" rear wheels
    2. have a front diameter of about 25"A
    3. have a rear diameter of about 27"A

I am still looking, and would appreciate the help.

   A A sets (for
A A AA AA AA AA proper vintage).

   rim
   A A sets (for
A A AA AA AA AA hill climbs, NASA, SCCA ITE, less proper

A A AA AA I gave options for "streetable" track tires, DOT race

   A A AA AA vintage-approved race tires.AAA For now, I am
   A A experimenting.AAA So please
