[DeTomaso] NPC Presidential limo driver

Indeed father-son bonding time is some of the best time of our lives. I spent a number of my son's early years working away from home for extended periods, it's surprising how fast they grow and what you miss, we tried to make up for it in his teens.

The latest project is building out a 280Z for him to replace his Mustang that we sold when we went to Calgary for work. I've always liked the 240/260/280 S30 design and I'm enjoying the build so much I'm considering getting one for myself when we are done. I hadn't realized how much aftermarket support there is for these things.

Julian, my son is a Chuck E. Cheese fanatic. We went to an auction when he was about 12 years old, and I did not bid on any single character (much to the chagrin of my son at the time), and then bought them all as a package deal at the end. Fast forward, he went today to Austin, TX, to pick up a CEC computer (original like back in the day) that he just bought. There's lots more to the story but not appropriate for the forum. Fathers and Sons!!! ---Bill Lewis

The Formula 1 series are good for all out open wheel racing, you can get the prior years dirt cheap. There's the Dirt 1/2/3 series for off road action and Need for Speed.

If you are serious then iracing is the online community for sim racing, they have most major tracks digitized now. With the rate of virtual reality advances I can see it taking on a whole new level.

Some years back my son and I saw a motion simulator booth in action at Monterey, inquired about the price and got some sticker shock....$55K. We came home put our thinking caps on, searched around and found a local guy and built one with 3 DOF (degrees of freedom), waited for cyber Monday and got 3D monitors and other parts we needed. It's dismantled currently while we remodel the house.

I think it may be time for me to look into video car games. What is good out
there in games? I would like to stick to PC games if I could.

Mike,

I do remember Pong it was the last video game I played. I didn't
realize that is a video game output.

Next thing you will tell me is that some of the current national news
stories are not based on provable facts.

Easily amazed,
jerry knotts
